Strategic Planning Process at MacMurray College

Welcome to the MacMurray College Strategic Planning page.

In the fall of 2016,the College assembled a Strategic Planning Steering Committee and hired a coordinator to facilitate the process.  The strategic planning process has given students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the College Board of Trustees the opportunity to discuss the College’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats given the current higher education landscape.  The feedback from stakeholders has underscored the importance of maintaining and strengthening the liberal arts at MacMurray College.  Providing an education consistent with the liberal arts remains at the heart of our learning community and has emerged as a top institutional priority.

Focusing on Teaching and Learning, The MacMurray Experience, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Resources, the Work Groups composed of faculty, staff and members of the Board of Trustees have identified strategic outcome for 2021 that will guide our process.   The work of the first phase of the strategic planning process will culminate with a revised vision & mission statement for the College, as well as Key Outcomes for 2021. Throughout the spring 2017 semester, each department  with will begin the process of the backward planning to determine specific measurable goals for the next 5 years that align with the College’s strategic outcomes.  MacMurray College will complete the strategic planning process in May 2017 when the College Board of trustees formally adopts the strategic plan.
